OUR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE PROGRAM

Become a Research Associate

The Research Associate Program welcomes paleontologists, climate scientists, and paleoceanographers from diverse backgrounds and institutional affiliations. Whether
established professionals or early-career researchers, individuals with a passion for mentorship and collaborative research are encouraged to participate.

Research Associates in the program have the privilege of mentoring high school and undergraduate students interested in paleontology, climate science, and paleoceanography. By sharing their expertise, guidance, and research experiences, Research Associates play a vital role in nurturing the next generation of scientists.

To become a Research Associate with PHI, individuals must demonstrate a track record of completed research projects involving student coauthors. Examples of such projects may include published or submitted papers, posters presented at conferences, talks, or other forms of scholarly dissemination. These projects highlight the Research Associate's commitment to collaboration and mentorship in academia.

Research Associates are welcomed to use PHI as their academic affiliation, providing them with access to resources, networking opportunities, and a supportive research community. Additionally, Research Associates gain recognition for their contributions to student mentorship and scientific research within the interdisciplinary framework of PHI.

Prospective Research Associates can apply to join the program by submitting examples of completed research projects involving student coauthors, along with a statement of interest outlining their commitment to mentorship and collaboration. Applications will be reviewed by the PHI advisory board, and successful candidates will be invited to join the Research Associate Program.
